We are often asked if Essential Oils are safe for Dogs and Cats…the answer is …only when used with care and after having consulted with your vet. We all love our pets but safety precaution is crucial when using Essential oils.

While dogs have been known to fare well with most essential oils, other pets such as cats and birds do not. Please note that cats are very sensitive to synthetic oils and their metabolic system responds poorly. They don’t digest oils like dogs do. Peppermint oil is mentally stimulating for your pet and can relieve mental tension and fatigue.

Uses
For your dog arthritis, mix with Ginger Essential oil and a carrier oil. In a dark bottle, mix

• 120ml olive oil
• 4 drops peppermint essential oil
• 5 drops ginger essential oil
• Rub 2 to 3 drops of the blend between your hands and apply it to areas affected by arthritis or joint pain.

Avoid contact with the eyes, nose and mouth.

Eucalyptus Essential oil

The oil has antiviral, anti-inflammatory and expectorant effects. Despite its potent smell, the oil is exceptionally gentle and a good choice to use in blends.

• Assist with colds and coughs
• Eliminate fleas

Uses
For fleas and other insects
Add 7 drops of the oil in 1l shampoo bottle. Wash your pet’s body with the shampoo (not appropriate for cats).

Caution
Avoid contact with the eyes, nose and mouth.
Indigestion can be fatal.

Frankincense Essential oil

The oil has antiviral, anti-inflammatory and expectorant effects. Despite its potent smell, the oil is exceptionally gentle and a good choice to use in blends.

The essential oil is indicated to strengthen a deteriorated immune system. It will help your elderly or sick animal that need a systemic boost.

By inhalation.

Rosemary Essential oil

The oil includes antioxidant, antifungal, antibacterial, anti-arthritic proprieties

Uses

• For the bugs five to ten drops are mixed into a tablespoon of apricot kernel oil.
• By inhalation or diluted that will be applied topically on dog to repel fleas (but not on cats)

Caution
